Learn To Play Your Guitar
Welcome to the Power Chord lesson series. When you learn to play your guitar using power chords, you will be able to play more easily and efficiently.
Power chords can be used when you can't stretch your fingers the correct way for the chord. Just use a power chord for that particular chord. There are often power chords used in rock songs. Don't worry. After a lot of practice, you will eventually be able to stretch your fingers into the right position to play the regular chords but in the meantime, this will work.
Relax! There are not as many bar chords as there are regular chords. Power chords can be used to make things a lot simpler than they are.
The F chord or the G chord may be hard chords for you to arrange your fingers properly. So you can use power chords to replace them and the sound will still be close enough.
For example, the G power chord can also be the G 7th as well. Or the B power chord can also be used as the B 7th.
Power chords are a good way to learn to play your guitar. In my opinion, they are the simplest thing to play on a guitar.
Now you are ready for power chord lessons. As I usually say, practice and determination are the keys to successfully mastering the guitar. Remember, there is no rush. Take your time. So practice, practice, practice and have fun with it.
As we progress through the lessons, I will add links to songs that you can play with power chords. If you have requests for a guitar tab, I will try to find it for you.
